Happiness =)

Bismillah, Assalamualaikum Myspace Icons

Happiness is subjective.

From the Prophet Rasulullah PBUH, there's happiness when:

1. You marry a soleh husband or a solehah wife.
2. You have children who brings goodness to you.

3. You have friends or neighbours who benefits you.

4. You have REZEKI all around.

From the preaching of Ustaz Hafiz in conjunction with Maal Hijrah. and he speaks that Kedah dialect that I am still fascinated with, made me transfixed to what he said.

ah, arent we all looking for that happiness and what's more, happiness that Islam compels us to seek!

But what is this I see, you proudly say you're taken and happily with that person and that you're so in love with him/her and you go out and you say you're so happy, he/she is your world and you've really hit the jackpot of happiness...ah, I pity you now, for even though you go out and take that break to pray but what makes you think that Allah bless what you're doing and what makes you think that just because both of you pray 5 times a day, its all good?! Think again~

Women impure are for men impure and men impure are for women impure; and women of purity are for men of purity, and men of purity are for women of purity: these are not affected by what people say: for them there is forgiveness, and a provision honourable.
(An-Noor 24:26)

Children in this context is not just your own but when you're a teacher, you have like how many children, MANY! and when they pray for you, ah, wouldnt that be great? and if your heart is pure and your knowledge is passed on to them and they understand, well, how many pahala do you think you could actually get? countless...

Allah's Messenger (PBUH) said:

When a man dies, his acts come to end, except three; recurring charity, knowledge (by which people benefit), or a pious child, who prays for him (for the deceased).

Friends play such an important role in life. You're actually a loser if you dont have friends if I do say so myself.

Hazrat Ali (a.s.) observes, 'He indeed is unfortunate who does not have any friends, but worse is the one who has friends, but loses them.'

(Behaarul Anwaar, vol. 73 p.278)

and my all-time favourite quote would be a constant reminder that always haunt me;
'The friends shall on that day (of judgement) be enemies of each other except those who guard against evil.'

(Zukhruf : 67).

One who seeks friendship for worldly benefits, will find himself deprived (Mizanul Hikmah). A lot of people establish their bonds of friendship and enmity based on the gain they are likely to accrue on a personal level. That is, if a person has some utility, he qualifies as a friend, else he is an enemy. However, that should never be the benchmark for us. For the sake of Imame Zamana (a.t.f.s.), may Allah grant us the taufeeq to seek friends only for His pleasure and satisfaction.

I am guilty as charge on the neighbours part. How could I benefit from my neighbours when I dont even know them? Most of my neighbours are guys anyway so maybe that's an excuse and I am still young to be joining those gathering that probably makcik's attend, hehe

Serve Allah and join not any partners with Him: and do good― to parents, kinsfolk, orphans, those in need, neighbours who are near neighbours who are strangers, the Companion by your side, the way-farer (ye meet) and what your right hands possess: for Allah loveth not the arrogant, the vainglorious;―
An-Nisa [4:36]

and I always pray for murah rezeki, that's what everyone wants and even though we dont always get what we want but then, that's God way of saying that every cloud has a silver lining and for us not to fall trap to whining.

And no one will be granted such goodness except those who exercise patience and self-restraint none but persons of the greatest good fortune.
Fussilat [41:35]

I am not preaching, hell no, that's the ustaz's job but I am reminding myself and others and yes, that's what Muslims do, Wallahualam. and basically I just wanna share this really great ceramah, one that long lingers in my thoughts and makes me ponders, ah, the world is coming to an end, and at what end am I, the good end or the bad end? and I have faith and what does it tell me?
